Against a target of 250, BSS maintained 271 survivor care plans in Madhubani and neighbouring areas: 250 survivors under restoration and rehabilitation support, 30 agricultural bonded labour survivors and 8 child labour survivors.
We see access to government entitlements as central to restoration. Community volunteers are trained to help families understand their rights and deal with government systems without middlemen, and survivor leaders are trained to secure entitlements and refer cases. Joint meetings with the District Legal Services Authority, the district administration and civil society, and legal aid camps on victims’ rights and schemes, support this work.
